Another one I will stay away from

-------------
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Not their best album, but Medicine Man is pretty cool.

The world keeps spinning, people keep sinning
And all the rest is just bullsh*t

The Poet-After the Day is a mini suite. But the poll doesn't allow voting for both. This mini suite is early (Harvest time) BJH symphonic masterpiece.

I agree with rockandrail above, although listed as separate tracks, I consider The Poet/After the Day to be a single piece.

For some reason, I have a soft spot for "Ursula". An admittedly simple song, but a great melody.

Yeah, Ursula is a very nice song, but I have to go for the fanstastic opener.

I remember I was shocked when I listened to it the first time 'cause I've already listened to Medicine Man single version, that is quite different.

BTW, it is interesting to know the favourites of the PA's members for each BJH's album. I could pick up the most aprreciated tracks and build up the PA's the best of BJH!

I really like the twee yet lovely 'Ursula' as well actually, but my favourite song by far is 'After The Day'. Yet again though, the live versions I've heard are far better- check the stunningly emotive guitar solo on their '74 'Live' album.

There's a certain innocence to Ursula that I like.

Agreed.

Plus, how could I disagree with someone who has Be-Bop Deluxe as their avatar, and quotes Kilbey.

I'm not sure of the album, since mine is a compilation, but Take Some Time On is my favourite BJH tune.

ringed by ants and musing over man.
