What would be the best Music DVD's in your eyes.

My favourites are:

Rush in Rio; an absolute stunning rockshow. (as most of their livework is)

Yes The magnificacian tour, with a complete symphonic orchestra, they play most of their classic's CTTE, gates of delerium etc., great show.

LED ZEPPELIN - DVD

Hey, does anyone know if the genesis songbook dvd is any good? On the box it says " supper's ready, musical box, i know what i like, etc." alot of good stuff unlike the boring crap on other official Genesis dvds. But the main reason i havent bought it is because i am unsure weather or not it has full performances. Info somebody?

Yes Symphonic,

But alas no Wakeman,

The replacement keyboard player (don't know his name) is guite alright. and the symphony orchestra does give the music an extra edge, without oversymphonising. great effort and a magnificant DVD

I've got Rush in Rio - but nearly didn't because I was wondering why   Red Barchetta was not included.

Page & Plant Unplugged is on order - and I'm told by a number of folks has the best surround sound to date - pity we only have the TV's stereo speakers.

Joni Mitchell's Shadows & Lights is out very soon in the Uk and 18 motnhs after the USA - about the only appearance of the great late Jaco Pastorius on DVD.

Hellborg and Lane: Paris - incredible Indo jazz fusion

Zeppelin's DVD and Song Remains the Same

Yes The magnificacian tour sounds incredible. I love CTTE and Gates of Delerium!

I have Hendrix Plays Berkeley as well, but besides not being prog, it's not a great dvd, in my opinion. Then again, I've only seen it while high... It's not bad though.

Arena: Caught in the act---great voice by Sowden, good angles, tight and precise playing

Glass Hammer :Lex Live-- brutally awesome, flawless, incredible tighness

Rush In Rio---no need to argue

Waters: In the FLesh Live---faithful to the sound of the Floyd

Portishead: Live at Roseland---simple but rich in skills and these are pros all the way

Steve Hackett: the Japan Tapes---uncanny performance, Wetton at his best, Mc Donald is superb in everything, THompson is hammering the drums...great lineup!

Beyond brilliant is that moment where you think: This is the greatest moment of my life, nothing can even come close to this, even if I live to be 114 years of age everything else I will ever experience can only be a disappointment compared to this so I hope I drop dead right to preserve this moments forever.

That's beyond brilliant.

NEAL MORSE Testimony Live (2 DVD)
Review by Zarco @ 9:20:04 AM EST, 11/28/2004

5 stars  —  This is really a great performance. I love it from the first till the last second. I've seen the show in Tilburg. At first we didnt know what we heart. Neal told us about his dauhter who was born with a hole in her heart. And it was a big hole. She had to be operated and even then ... Neal and his wife started praying to God and asked Him to save their girl. When Neal was in Holland for a performing, his wife told him that she has said to God: "I will give my heart to you for the rest of my life if you can only save the life of our daughter. In the next view days the hole in the baby's heart shut completely. She is now a bright young girl. Neal was so greatfull that he would tell the whole world about this miracle. That is what you hear in his songs. Gratefulness. It's a fantastic album. A must have. You can hear it for yourself. The music from Spocks Beard en the lyrics from the heart of Neal Morse. A brilliant combination.

That was the part of the DVD that made me throw it out the window !!!!!!!
The music is great, but the lyrics are

Avoid this DVD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avoid Neal Morse until he recovers from this insanity !!!

Someone once said that religion is a form of mental illness. I agree completely, and Neal Morse is a prime example of the sickness.

Now I cant listen to this album. Nothing could live up to this eulogy, Pixie.

id have to agree with on the lyrics stuff. the first time i listened to morse, i was hoping for dream theater kind of poetic lyrics..but then..

i mean, i thought it was good, but im not really into religious related lyrics. but hey, my favorite morse song is colder in the sun! the song kicks ass!

I wonder if I have done IQ a dis-service with my passionate statement regarding "Subterranea". You're probably right,Reed. Can the album actually live up to that kind of praise? Probably not and I guess I have to say there's a tiny, microscopic, speck of chance I might have gotten carried away a bit there. So I'll amend my view and simply say that it's one of my favourite albums (and dvds) of all time and without a doubt the best concept album I have ever heard and just leave it at.
