OK the situation is looking grim for Kansas  and the top 100 prog CD`s on Prog Archives at the moment (they have just one CD in the top 100 "Leftoverture" at 97) so Kansas needs your help, what they need you to do is write reviews (they don`t have to be long reviews) what Kansas needs is high ratings and lots of reviews.

Thanks for taking time reading this now please go and write a review for Kansas, Lets correct this situation because up until now Kansas fans haven't shown much of a voice (when it comes to submitting reviews)  its time to speak up and set the record straight that Kansas are one of the better prog bands

Those of you who feel the need to write a negative Kansas review may also exercise the freewill to do so, this is not any form of manipulation or whats referred to as Skewing its a post in a forum and works completely within forum policy , it even has a nice little message at the end

Yeah, I definitely agree...those first 5 albums are big faves in my collection (especially the first 3). Not enough time for a review, tho, except:

Song For America: Superb!

Kansas: one step below Superb!

Leftoverture: one step below one step below Superb!

Point of Know Return...just below that.

And there are my reviews, I know they will be incredibly useful too all.

Isn't manipulation  what we're trying to avoid?

Manipulation of statistics despite it's been doone in a legal way is not moral.

I love Kansas, they are in my top 10 or even 5 bands, but I would rate them when I feel comfortable doing it, not just only because I want to take them to the top of a list, we would be behaving just as some people accuse us.

As long as the albums are reviewed and rated objectively, no problem. Those who do not enjoy the music of Kansas so much are of course also welcome to submit objective reviews.

Any clear attempts at manipulation will of course be dealt with.Wink

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Reviewingc is the name of the game

Skewing is the name of the shame

But this thread does sound like a call to skewing

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

It does to me too.

But since Easy kept it open I will leave this thread alone.

Agreed... and adding to Kansas (or any other band) fans that Newton's 2nd Law may occur - the one which says that for every action an equal counter-reaction shall be expected, ie, other fans may want to do the same with their favorite ones and all efforts could be meaningless.

While I wholeheartedly agree that several Kansas albums belong in the top 100, it is futile to try to right the situation via any "call to alarm." As I wrote somewhere else, the top 100 is a distorted freak show of prog rock allegiances--it's there only for our amusement and bewilderment.

I mean, by any true prog rock standard, ELPs LPs would be much higher than they are, and Riverside (whoever they are) would be only a footnote entry viewable via pop-up window.

Anyone who knows prog rock knows Kansas is a great band.

I Agree, they definetly deserve to have more albums on the top 100.

I'm afraid I agree with Ivan here.  If you truly want to review the albums on thier own merits than fine. I love this band as much as any of you but to do this is an injustice to the whole board.
