Just curious what people would choose if they were offered the three DVD set of The Lord of the rings or they could choose the book. It is given to you free as a present, you donīt have to pay.

I would take the 3 dvd set.

I have had the books since I was 11.

If I didn't have the book already: the book.

But I have the book, and I still would like to have the 3 DVD set. It's on my wishlist.

In 99% of the cases I'd choose the book(s), but for LOTR I'd prefer the DVDs.

It would be very stupid to choose the 15$ book over the 150$ movie trilogy

Even if I didn't have the book, I'd take the DVDs and then go buy the book

The Extended Version DVD Box or the normal dvd box???

I prefer the DVDs though..

now if you'd ask me whether I'd want a copy of The Silmarillion... I've read that book several times and am still intrigued by it

I chose the book even though I own both .  I love the movies but there is no way to really capture all the details of Tolkien's three books on film; The books are literary masterpieces - I dont really see how you can improve on them.
