One gig in America, and it's in Denver!??  What the hell is up with that!  I'm sure there are plenty of people in the Bay Area who would attend their show.  It was promoted by the Colorado Art Rock Society, so maybe I need to start my own prog lobbying group to try to get some prog bands out to the west coast.  I'm down to doctor up some falsified petitions from the "many prog fans" who I know.  Seriously, no Flower Kings in the most populous state in the freakin USA, but they're going to perform in Mexicali, Mexico in the BAJAPROG festival which spans over 4 days and includes 20 progressive rock bands including Marillion!  Something is seriously wrong here.

I am from Montreal. Have been fortunate to see them 3 times in the past 4 years. Each time, in a very intimate setting (approx 300 people). Absolutely phenomenal. Takes me back to the glory days of seeing Genesis or Gentle Giant in concert back in the 70's. The Flower Kings always take the time after their concerts to mingle with the crowd, sign autographs, etc .... They are very nice individuals. The last time I saw them, they even came out on the street before the concert to talk with the fans who were standing in line (waiting for the doors to open). They do not rely on any pyrotechnics or fancy light show, however, the music and sound are always impeccable. They do not back away from playing their longer, more epic pieces either (in their entirety). I consider them to be one of the most talented, and yet under-rated prog bands in the history of music. If you ever have the chance to take in one of their shows, do not pass it up. There is always the concert DVD for those who can't get to see them in person.

I saw  them in 2003. Then Zoltan Csörsz was their drummer, who is truly excellent. members also . I suppose Zoltan was the main reason of the quite big crowd. Unfortunatel, that was the only TFK gig in Zoltan's native country. The band played the three longest(and best) tracks from Unfold the Future. The overall playtime was about 2,5 hours. The sound wasn't really perfect,Roine complaied quite a lot about it.They played well anyway, especially the Reingold/Csörsz rythm section, whic is not available anymore. On the 9th of April they play in Budapest, but I won't be home on that day.

I saw them a couple of years back, around the time of Unfold the Future (when Zoltan was drumming for 'em). Great show, especially the epics. They kicked off with a blistering rendition of Devil's Playground that was EVEN LONGER than the studio version (due in part to a wild wild percussion solo by the extraordinary Hasse Bruinisson). Some of the poppier material didn't impress me so much, but they kept that to a minimum. I'm sure you'll have a great time, RP.
