Its happening my fellow proggers... The creation of Pain of Salvations new album is in progress... From what is known, the title will be "Scarsick", and, as Daniel puts it, the album will be much more band oriented and down to the core. Here is a fragment of the still enigmatic cover art:
Both title and cover art details give hope of an album far darker and heavier than Remedy Lane or BE. We won't get TPE II, but maybe "Scarsick" will be just as great... Keep your fingers crossed!
And sadly the songwriting is taking place without a bass-player... no info about Kristoffer's replacement...

They're looking for replacements. If there is a bassist here living in Sweden, you should apply.

I think it's nothing wrong with Be.On the other hand it's good news that Daniel is not going to make a 2nd Be. A more band oriented album is welcome !
Maybe I am very slow, but what happened to Kristoffer?

Allegedly, the band is set to release this album and another album sometime at this year I've heard. The second album is, I would think, TPE II.
As for Kristoffer...although there from the beginning, nothing of his bass work particularly stood out to me...so I don't see it distracting too much from the writing of the new material.

Hello everybody!
It's A GREAT NOTICE! I'm a very true fan of POS.I loved the sound of the BE....as than the previous Remedy Lane and the others. They are all important for me not only for the music, but also for the messagges that they send us.
I'ill wait Scarsick as AN EVENT for my life.....

The music oriented songs on BE are AMAZING. The story oriented ones are so-so (some are good, some aren't). Still, I really liked BE as a whole.

Still I think that BE would have been much better if ALL the songs were music oriented. A song can be both story and music related, and that IMO was what made the previous PoS albums so great and was "watered down" a bit on BE.

Personally I think Kristoffer was quite an amazing player. Listen to a song like Waking Every God, Fandango, Idioglossia, Nihil Morari, or People Passing By as a testament to his talents. I think he's one of the most underrated bassists in Progressive Metal.
About the new album, I'm very excited. It's going to be great to hear an album more reminiscient of the older style of Pain of Salvation. I thought Be was an excellent album, it ranks no higher than third on my order of Pain of Salvation.
