Topic: Choose 4 out of 6

Subject: Choose 4 out of 6

As I got no response in the other thread - I Recommend... I decided to do a poll. ( http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19026&PN=1&get=last#1876164 - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19026& amp; amp;PN=1&get=last#1876164)

I am going to buy some albums next week and I can only afford 4 out of 6 albums I planned to buy (gotta pay the rent somehow).

So, out of these next 6 albums, which 4 would you choose?

Bare in mind I know and love all of them, so its not a matter of buying something unknown for me. Its like a contest.

Let the race begin:

  1. Alphataurus – Alphataurus

Remember choose 4 of these fine 6 albums.

Let me start by saying I tend to choose 1, 2, 3 for sure and I hesitate between 4 and 6.

The albums that lose will be bought next time in the near future, hopefilly...

You don't have to vote using the options above, just write the numbers of 4 albums you prefer.

Otherwise, you can vote 4 times (please not more) for the albums of your choice.

You can say why you're voting for these 4 also, that would be nice.

Thanks for the help.

Out of those six I only own Moon Safari and Wobbler, they are both pretty good.

Thanks Ryan. In case you don't know the others, I strongly recommend both Anabelas and Ys.

Not very promising so far..., I thought everyone here were very opinionated so this surprises me. Plus, these are fairly known albums, 4 classics and 2 modern vintage albums.

If no one else votes, I'll have no choice but to buy all of them and risk being thrown from my appartment, because my cheque to the landlord would bounce . So please help a man in need....

BTW - I don't know if it's a fair comparison to make, but between Ys and Anabelas, who do you prefer? (they have their similarities, meaning Bubu was influences by Balletto since their album came out in 1984).

Hello there. This is quite hard, very good choices. Let me think a minute...

....

....

....

Ok, let's see... Definitely Alphataurus and Wobbler. Now, for the other two...I think Bubu as well. The last one should be... Ys.

Mezquita is great, I think I'll get it soon as well.

I really like Bubu's Anabelas
"Viajar hasta el fin..."
Mezquita's pretty good too, but Hinterland and Ys are probably more essential (I haven't heard either of them, unfortunately).

Hi, Mike.

I added Alphataurus and Moon Safari in your website (and rated some of it as well).

I'm not sure if the others are there as well, I'll check and if not (I think Ys is there), I'll add them.

BTW, to whom it may concern, go to http://www.ratingfreak.com - www.ratingfreak.com for Mike's site. There you can be like the band admissions team here. You add Bands, albums, and songs and you attribute the genres to each album individually, you rate and give reviews to songs and albums. Mike's keeps improving and updating features all the time, so it gets better.

Anyway, I think Ys is, as was mentioned, essential. Moon Safari is a fine album as well (influences pretty noticeable, but enjoyable nonetheless).

Yes, I agree about Ys. I was gonna leave it out, but I reckon it is really necessary to own it.

btw - I did multiple votes for people to choose 4 out of six.

I think it is very sad that someone had the time and will to vote over 300 times for wobbler

Well I was going to buy Alphataurus, Ys, Bubu, and Wobbler.

However, Bubu is out of print, and so I replaced it with Moon Safari.

Mezquita will have to wai for next time.

I was gonna leave Ys to the next time but given the responses and listening to the album again, I understood I should make it a high priority. Its too bad about Bubu though... I'll try at Ebay.

Given that a stupid troll voted for Wobbler over 300 times I think it went well. I'm also surprised that Moon Safari got 7 votes (assuming its not an act of the same troll). What do you think of this album?

We can still continue voting though. It is an interesting competition anyway.

One competition can be bertween the two modern vintage prog acts Wobbler and Moon safari.

The other competition can be between Bubu and Balletto di Bronzo.

The third between Alphataurus and Mezquita.

Thanks to all the participants of the contest, I appreciate your contributions.
