Fripp definitely look bored when he plays. He doesn't even look concentrated on his playing at times. He just looks away and I can easily imagine him say : Hey man! What's that on the wall over there? ![](smileys/smiley36.gif)
Anyway, I think he's more concentrated and excited than he looks. Well, I hope... ![](smileys/smiley36.gif)

Well, judging by that performance on Conan, it does not appear to be that way. I'm sure he is concentrating when he's playing something difficult though.

The only time I saw Fripp live, I thought he was in a coma the whole time.
I've also seen Rush & Peart may look bored, but I think its not a challenge to him. Actually the same can be said for Fripp. They both make it look so easy, we the fans think they're bored with it.

Peart is definitely the biggest showman among drummers (which is why
some people think he is the best drummer of all). Fripp is just the
opposite, an anti-showman. If there was an invisibility potion, Fripp
would use it on stage. Peart would hand the invisibility potion to all
his fellow musicians on stage.( By the way, something no author of
stories or director of movies about invisibilty ever thought about: He
who is invisible is also blind, because visibilty occurs fromlight
being absorbed and partially reflected from the body. If the light
somehow passes the body without interacting with it or somehow is
deflected around the body without any distortion, then no light reaches
the eyes, and the invisible person is blind. The only way an invisible
person could see is if at least the eyes were visible. Now that would be some
strange sight, a pair of eyes floating in mid-air).

Fripp by far
He has this "how dare you trouble me to play for you, i could be home with my cats" expression
(yes, I am sure he is a cat person)

How can someone be a showman and make it into the 'most bored-looking' poll at the same time?
Not to mention that Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, heck, even Tommy Lee and Joey Jordison display infinitely more showmanship than Peart.
As for the poll, I'd say Fripp looks more bored (but he's not really, he's just concetrating).

I'm with you, he doesn't look bored; he just wants to seem like he doesn't want to be there, so he can better preserve his mystique, or whatever.

No. Peart is quite steel-faced in his performances, more so now than in the early years. The thing is, Mike Portnoy plays incredibly complex drum beats sometimes and he manages to smile, get up, and be just a great entertainer. Peart seems to be so focused on the music that he seems to take no pleasure and find no fun in performing. This is my opinion.
