I was looking over my 300 plus collection and I was thinking to myself I`m starting to get some pretty ordinary CD`s in there, maybe its time to go down to the second hand dealer and purge some, the ones I don`t like very much, they are just taking up room and cluttering up things, maybe I could even put some on E bay I mean just because I don`t get into to it, doesn`t mean its no good

According to my rateyourmusic page, the average rating of my album collection (CD and MP3) is 3.99 stars. So I guess I'm mostly happy with it. It can always be better though.

100% because almost all of the albums I have are prog and good albums, the rest is MP3.

Most I like. My collection needs to be bigger, however.

I get what you're saying, but I rated the CDs based on how much I like them, not by greatness or whatever.

Of course we always want more cds - there is no such thing as a complete collection. The question is rather whether you think that your collection is really matching your taste. That's not always so, because your taste is constantly changing over the years.
I solved this problem by selling the cds which I don't like anymore. I've already sold more than 150 cds in the last few years, and bought more than 300.

At the risk of sound pretentious
Mine is almost up to 100% percent satisfactory because I cheat!!
I get rid of albums I do not like and I make my own compilation out of three (or six) albums , so I am not subjected to bad and average tracks from non-essential artistes

Well, there are some CDs from years and years ago which no longer pique my interest, and those I have stored away. I'd say I've only bought one or two CDs in the past couple of years that I either didn't like or don't like anymore. I usually research my purchases very well before I buy, and even if it doesn't click right away, time will fix those issues. Obviously there are plenty of albums I'd like to add to my collection, but what I have right now is doing me quite well.

We weed out our collection from time to time. There are a few rarities
we would like to have (not necessarily the first edition; a simple
re-issue would do. We collect albums for the music and not for their
rarity). Otherwise I am very happy with our collection. Of course there
could always be more ... (... "and more and more and more and more";
Krautrock fans will certainly recognise what track I am referring to).

I am a completist so there are some bad albums I will always own simply because I like the majority of the artist's work. In that respect, my collection is a 75%.

Iv gone with the 75% option but to be honest Im not finished yet, I never will be, the only day I will be finished is the day I die, and even then the ones that are 'odd msitakes' are what I like to call growers and I quite enjoy them now!

I like most of my CD's, probably around 99% or more, because I only upgraded to CD those that I liked, except a couple of gifts (Invissible Touch and Love Beach), plus OVO that I bought it only because Peter Gabriel's name, I believe i'm happy with all the rest.
Now LP's is a different sttuff, maybe 90%..
But the day I'm happy with my collection I will kill myself, because hat will mean I'm not interested in searching for more, there will always be a CD missing (Probably a couple hundreed if not more) to be happy with my collection, when I get that couple hundreed I wil discover that there are another couple hundreed missing.

I'm pretty happy with my collection, but I always have a list of "ones to buy". My only problem is finding the space to store them all. Not only do I need more physical storage space, I need a bigger PC to store my MP3s now.

I usually make good choices. But venturing into Prog-Metal, Krautrock and Canterbury is dangerous for a Neo/Symphonic fan such as me which results in the odd mis-purchase (Future Days).
