Listening to Iron Maiden's Best Of The Beast compilation, I noticed that on the track Sign Of The Cross, Steve Harris writes about "Eleven saintly shrouded men... One in front with a cross held high". This is a blatant lift from Genesis' Supper's R

There is a fine line between accidental imitation and blatant plagiarism. Everybody knows Paul McCartney thought he had stolen the riff for Yesterday but nobody to could direct him to an earlier song with the same cho

Cheers, Danbo. I've got Softs 3/4/5/6 but nothing later so I'll take a look. Been reading some of the Holdsworth reviews on the Archives and I must admit the guy sounds fantastic. I'll definitely go for the UK album next time too.

Will do. Anyone rate John McLaughlin's Shakti stuff? I've got the live acoustic album from Portsmouth (?) '75 and the playing is blinding.

Wasn't it John Fogerty who got sued by his former record label for plagiarising (sounding like) himself?

And Neil Young who got into trouble for not sounding like himself
