You're fearless if you never walk alone, but always surrounded by people who protect you I wonder where they get the recording of an audience singing it. From a sports match, or one of their own shows??

I think it has something to do with Nick Mason having been a good friend of the late British DJ and Liverpool fanatic John Peel. The song was a big hit for Merseybeat act Gerry and the Pacemakers in the 1960s, and was rapidly taken up as a chant by Liverpool supporters, and can still be heard at Liverpool games to this day although many other chants have come and gone in the intervening years.
