I only know Vangelis and Horizon's End. Whatever happend to Horizon's End? Are they still around? I've got the album Sculpture On Ice from -98, a pretty much Dream Theater copy in my ears. But good enough to hit the CD player now and then. Seems to me it's hard to find any home page of the band.

I know 3 Greek bands:

Aphrodites Child (good early prog related music featuring Vangelis on keyboards), Akritas (a bit disappointing, I had more expected from this highly sought after music) and PLJ Band, my absolute favorite Greek band: wonderful blend of psychedelic, symphonic and folk featuring lots of soaring keyboards, twanging acoustic guitars and tasteful arranged compositions, SPLENDID!

By the way, I love to go to Molivos on the island Lesbos (beautiful landscape and old city, delicious mousaka and Mythos beer..)!

Hey, DallasBryan, recommend me a Greek band featuring Hammond, Moog and Mellotron, your extensive list must at least contain one or ... ?

Have not heard all the bands I listed but if you can
find them from memory, Ta Tessera Epipeda Tis
Yparxis (1976) is probably the most keyboard
oriented from the early 70's(think thats the one).
I would suggest that you look at the Greek scene as
being Progressive Folk and similar, but
different(Asia Minor, Indian) to the Italian scene. The
ones with the electronic bombast with ethnic folk
rock are real winners.

Its been years since I heard many of these(about 15,
back in the 80's while in Athens, mostly) so my
memory is charred. I do remember Dimitrus
Poulikakos' Metaforai Ekdomai as being a standout
but may not fit your criteria.
