This is not meant as a slam on the great Pink Floyd..but one does think they get overplayed so much on classic rock stations that there are songs...all great ones too...that I just do not welcome anymore...sometimes I'll even turn the radio dial(sacrilege..I know) The above list of songs I can hear at least one of them every hour on the hour on one of the classic rock stations here in Chicago(we have 4) |

You forgot "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"...easily tied with "Run Like Hell." I'm sick of Floyd! OTOH, "Have A Cigar" is always cool. |

ouch on CN... I think thats a clear masterpiece.. especially those live versions on DSOT and Pulse... Another Brick in the Wall would be my vote. I get a little tired of the studio version, altho I'm more fond of the Pulse version... David gives that guitar solo a lot more spunk on that version...making it well worth the listen.. ------------- THIS IS ELP

Like Dragon Phoenix, I abstain! No criticism intended, but "negative" polls like this should really include an option to disagree with the question. i.e. an option, "None of them are overplayed". Given the lack of exposure prog gets on the radio, i suspect that would have got a few votes! |

To Easy Living-as I said above-this is by no means a slam on the great Pink Floyd...perhaps where you live it is not the case, but if I were to flip around the dials enough I can catch a Pink Floyd song every hour and it is always one of the above songs with few exceptions..I do not consider this a negative poll .I was just curious if this was the case where others live If Pink Floyd were to make a true greatest hits cd then the above list would represent them well to the pop loving masses |

Agreed. I voted money. You hear it on TV a lot. Its my least favourite song on DSOTM. I know where people are coming from with Comfatably Numb, but I'll always like it because of Gilmours Guitar solos. Some of his finest IMO. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

Yeah...I think so...perhaps we should appreciate the fact we have radio stations that sometimes play good music instead of bashing them about the ones they overplay and the few bad ones as well |

happiest days of our lives/another brick in the wall pt.2 sometimes reaches the "annoying" status in Mexico, i don't know why we got stucked in that song. The problem with this song is that is "dated" and sounds OLD; Pink Floyd has a lot more songs that are "timeless" like ASTRONOMY DOMINE!!!!! ------------- between darkness and light |

In Ecuador definetly...Another Brick in the Wall (pt2) you played that song to the average rock listener and he'll say PINK FLOYD!!!!. Now the same kind of Rocker would know about DSOTM, but the only thing he would say is that the common guy say: Great album, classic, but he barely heard the complete record. You would play him Wish You Were Here and the fifty percent (or less) will tell you that is a Floyd song. But with no doubt ABINTW PT2 is the best known song from them. ------------- Democracy=A form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people...

What really bothers me is that on rquest shows people call in, claiming to be huge Floyd fams, then request that freaking piece of Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Floyd fan (honestly) but I cannot stand that song. Other than the lyrics. They could have done a much better job at it, if they had a different producer, in my opinion. Even though it was my theme song for last year, that was because of the lyrics, i still dislike it. But the whole concept of using a children's choir in it is good. First of all I'm a hardcore Floyd nut, but the rock stations in this area play nothing but the above-over and over... Floyd have so many gems, you can't just stick to the same old "safe" relics! Furthermore I generally do not like listening to some Floyd pieces out of context ie- The Wall and Darkside.The whole is always more than the sum of the parts. ------------- Here I'm shadowed by a dragon fig tree's fan ringed by ants and musing over man. |

Each Floyd album is a work of art as a whole and it takes away so much to hear the songs out of context. I am really tired of hearing happiest days/another brick 2 on the radio tho. |

If I have to listen to Another Brick in the Wall part 2 on the radio one more time, I shall have to put an ash covered fire poker down my throat and swallow! I mean, come on now! Stairway to Heaven and Smoke on the Water don't get played as much as Another Brick pt.2. IMO, hearing the song 'out of context' from the Wall is just wrong. -------------

The answer is so another brick in the wall part two. I listen to classic rock radio a lot, and almost everyday they play this song. thats probably because its so popular all the uneducated losers of America. i hate it! it's f**king disco! can you believe Korn made it even worse?

"Wish You Were Here" is one of those songs which s*ck completely when listened on its own. On the entire album concept, it's fantastic! I got completely sick of "Another Brick On The Wall, Pt.2"!!! I just can't listen to it anymore!!! When I'm listening the the album The Wall, I skip that one up! And the same on their live albums and best of's. -------------

I voted money. To tell the truth I don't listen to the Classic Rock stations anymore - heard all those songs too many times already. I've got an old car with a tape deck in it (can you get them that way anymore?) and with the tape adapter I can play my i-pod through the car stereo.
