Have a look at this post in the Web Wiz forum:

http://www.webwizguide.info/bbs/forum_posts.asp?TID=17835&FID=6&PR=3 - http://www.webwizguide.info/bbs/forum_posts.asp?TID=17835&am p;am p;FID=6&PR=3

They are currently testing the first beta version of the new forum software (version 8).

The new features include:

  • Much better performance, especially for pages like Active Topics or Forum Start Page
  • Search function has been expanded and improved
  • Generated HTML code is now XHTML compliant
  • Post editor is cross browser, meaning that link highlighting & formatting will work in Firefox
  • Various other improvements, read the above post for yourself.

I hope that mailto:M@x - M@x will update the forum once the beta testing is done!

Here's some more features of version 8 that are great improvements:

  • Polls can be edited
  • Email activation system (user needs to confirm his email address by clicking on an activation link in the email)
  • More BB Forum codes
  • Overall improved support for Firefox
  • ...

And here's an example of the new forum search - try it yourself, it's REALLY nice: http://www.webwizguide.info/bbs/search_form.asp?FID=6 - http://www.webwizguide.info/bbs/search_form.asp?FID=6

^ well, even if you like the forum as it is, it could speed up things so that we no longer have to wait 30 seconds each time the page loads.

I guess you'll get some help from the Web Wiz developers when you give them the error messages.

Why does it say that the forum is temporarily closed? When I bypass it and click 'Active Topics' and 'Log In' then everything goes properly...

The forum was quite slow in January/February, it's much better since March.
