Is that a classic guitar such as gibson, fender, or classical guitar? And what's an ump?

I'll pass on the advice that was given me:

"Go to a music store. Play a guitar you think you might like. Then play a low priced one. Then play one in a price range you cannot afford. Find a sound that you like and keep trying out guitars of that style. Go to as many music stores as you can and try to find one that sounds the best for the price... Then forget all that and just buy one that looks cool."

Seriously, just try different guitars to find one that you like.

If you want actual advice, people will need to know more about your situation. Are you a beginner or have you played in a bar band for a few years? What kind of music do you want to play?

Somehow I think that he meant a classic electric guitar ... but check out the cool silent concerto guitars from Yamaha anyway:

Steve Howe recommends Kohno and Ramirez! I love the distinctive Ovation sound but I own an Ibanex Andorra Classic, a good mid-priced guitar for average players like me.

IBANEZ of course (not Ibanex!)
