Sigur Ros-Takk...., not quite as good as Ageatis Byrjun, but still an excellent release.

Frances the Mute for me, although there was a lot of good music this year so that's a really hard choice and I may be forgetting something right now.

In no particular order:

Deadwing - PT
Motions of Desire - Magic Pie
Hinterland - Wobbler
Takk - Sigur Ros
The Inconsolable Secret - Glass Hammer
Ghost Reveries - Opeth

and havent listened to the Riverside enough yet to pass judgement, but on two listens, I really like it.

Well.. I'd have to agree with most of you, Frances the Mute was indeed an awesome album along with Ghost Reveries... definitely 'best of the year' material. Second Life Syndrome by Riverside is pretty good as well !

Oh, and Octavarium was THE disappointment of the year IMO  except for the last song, but overall.. ughh *shivers*

I'll give my vote to

ROOM V - SHADOW GALLERY

What would I do without them?!... Clap

..and by the way I totally I agree with you mortem, Octavrium was a total disaster, my biggest disapointment too.

I had been a hard die DT fan for seven years but I can forgive them!!!Cry

Wobbler:  Hinterland        &n bsp;  I just got the new Zero Hour release; A Fragile Mind, and the new Riverside release; Second Life Syndrome, so these releases have a shot at taking over the number one spot from the new band Wobbler who are fantastic.  Special mention goes to Porcupine Tree's new release Deadwing, which is also excellent and would be number one if not for the fact that Wobbler released such a great work as their first official release.
