Not really tough...Misplaced Childhood is one of the most beautiful albums of prog...naturally of Marillion too...definately one of my favourites...Brave has some good moments...I first disliked Brave...but then when I heard the songs live on Made Again,I changed my view...

Tough one! Two of my top favourite Marillion albums. But I like MC just a tiny little bit more.

Well this is very difficult question, because Misplaced is the best MARILLION with Fish, and Brave is one of the best with Steve, then my vote goes to... both albuns !!!

Hmm... This is a tough decision for me. I like both albums quite a lot. But I had to vote for Misplaced Childhood -- not just because I like it slightly more than Brave, but also because I have a soft spot for it since it was my first Marillion album. It was so reminescent of Genesis that it was hard for me to believe. I was a prog neophyte back then, though. Haha...

This is my first post here, so greetings to you all. Interesting topic, btw.

I'm going to have to go against the gran here. Brave is probably my favorite Marillion album.

9-1 to MC....!

Have you lot lost the plot????

Brave turns it upside down and spanks its little botty!!!

Lavender, my arse...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Well, Lavender is the one track I care absolutely nothing for. But the rest of the album more than makes up for it, in my opinion. And the climax of Blind Curve is the high-point of the album, for me. The emotion contained in that passage gets me every time.

Misplaced childhood. And in contrast to (apparently) the majority here, I looooooooooove Kayleigh.

I'd go for 'Misplaced Childhood' also- when Fish left, the character of the band went with him for me. I've heard several of their albums, including 'Brave', with Hogarth, and I must say I didn't enjoy them anywhere near as much as the few with Fish.

I think "Brave" is an overrated album, I think Seasons and Afraid are better in every way.

Taking the poll, Misplaced is an incredible album by any point of view (music, lyric and the amazing art-work of Wilkinson
)

If Brave were a bit shorter the choice would be a lot closer. As it stands Brave just drags on too much to rival Misplaced Childhood in any way.

Brave is a great album but Misplaced Childhood is slightly better imo.

Misplaced Childhood gets my vote.

Although Lavender does make me cringe. I took some flak at school for liking Marillion when they released that single...

I reckon it was kicked into touch by both 'Script..' and 'Fugazi'

I really like the song, particularly the secong half. The lyrics are a bit but the vocal and guitar melodies are sopt on. It's Waterhole (Expresso Bongo), Lords of the Backstage and to a lesser extent White Feather that let me down from that album.

Hard choice for me this one.

I would probably rate MC as the weakest Fish-era album, not that I'm saying it's bad it just doesn't have the same drive as Script, Fugazi and CAS.  It's still progressive but Script & Fugazi set the benchmark and I found Misplaced to be more of a sell out to the masses (I can hear you all now shouting "what's he on about!!!!!")

After the commercial flop of Holidays in Eden, I was delighted to find Marillion had returned to their  prog roots with the conceptual Brave.  This album has some stunning musical moments.

SO........Brave for me !

So here I am once more
