Many people think that prog is a genre for the elite class, I want to know if this is true or not. I myself am a student (studying Latin and Spanish Literature and Linguistics at university. thanks four all votes (in advance)

Student here as well (at least for six more month, then it'll be the army and then probably more studying. Hooray...). What is this I hear about prog as an elite genre? Prog has always felt more like leftist music for me. Perhaps elite in the way that mostly people who consider themselves "intellectual" or "artistic" listen to it, but not elite as in "Begone, filthy peasant! Do not pester my sight when I'm listening to Pink Floyd on this $20,000 stereo!"-way. |

I'm a University drop out... Trust me all of you high schoolers, Uni is an evil place! nothing like it presumably was in the 60s.... Its just full of terrible products of the modern age. All any one is interested in is money! not the best place for your average prog rocker!

| I'm 35 years old, and in Syringe production. I grew up on prog, but have to admit that this site has introduced me to alot more great music than I could have come across otherwise. I work with some guys who are 50+ prog heads, who lived through the heyday, and never come to sites like this. So the poll is bound to be a little off. |
