Anyone here ordered their copy of the new echolyn dvd?

I got mine on Friday and it's awesome - great packaging and an extra dvd of just interviews and old home movie clips of the band. Also - video clips and commentary from the Sony Studios recording of "As The World"

The first dvd is from the Sellersville show that I'm very happy to say I was at - Brett has done a fantastic job with the sound and video editing. This includes echolyn playing 'mei' with full orchestra!

You can check out a sample video from my fansite:

and...you can also view the official "trailer" and order your own copy from here:

I'd love to hear from any other echolyn fans out there!

It's next on my list. I recently bought the "Little Nonsense" box, which completed the CD collection. Echolyn have fused so many great elements to create a wondrous whole. Fab!

I'm hoping this release is the gateway to a new ECHOLYN production. Mei was spectacular. Is there anything new on the horizon?

I meant "studio." I believe this new one is being released on CD as well as the DVD.

The answer is ..yes! The band will be back to the studio for a new studio release in 2005 (keep your fingers crossed) - and the good news is: Tom Hyatt will be joining them on bass for the first studio album since ATW in 1995! This is one I'm really looking forward to! I spoke to Tom at the Sellersville show last year and he was really excited about being back in the band.

There are some live sets coming out soon - from Nearfest 2002 and the Orion shows....having been to all of them....I highly recommend them when they're released!

My review of the new echolyn dvd:

All I can say is...if you haven't ordered your copy already...what are you waiting for?!

The Sellersville concert was transferred to dvd with a wonderful
collection of images and effects interwoven with concert footage
which really adds to the atmosphere of each song. '1729 Broadway'
and 'Never The Same' really stand out in this respect.

The sound transfer is nice and clean..thanks to the mixing talents
of Brett - and on my Polk surround sound system and 50" HDTV - made
me feel like I was at the show again...only with the best seat in
the house

Greg Kull wrote a really nice intro on the inside cover of the dvd
set - he's been an integral part of the band from the beginning and
has helped them out in every aspect...be it echolyn's album art...to
managing and marketing the band...to operating the lights during a
concert.

The second dvd is worth the price of the set alone! If anyone wanted
to know what the band was all about and how they've evolved over the
years...this is the disc to watch! This is an extremely well done
documentary filled with all kinds of excellent vintage echolyn
footage...including a sometimes hilarious commentary during footage
of echolyn's recording session of ATW at Sony's Studios in
Tennessee - I laughed out loud more than once hearing the guys
voices surround my room with their thoughts on what was happening on
the screen.

Finally...the packaging is as beautiful as their music...very
tastefully done and different...as we have come to expect from them.

Thanks to all who helped echolyn create another masterpiece, and to echolyn for letting us go down memory lane with you

I finally sat down last night and watched 2/3's of the first disc. Wow! What a band. I think I turned a couple of friends onto them. I hope they play a West Coast show, I'd love to see them playout. Awesome!
