I really like his music...
I wondered why he isn't in the archives anyway...
And yes, he is more prog than some other bands/artists featured in the archives...

Can't understand why this thread died ... Mike Keneally is a true genius, and he is as much prog as Zappa (call it Fusion if you will).

I know that he is not as widely known as he should be ... so please use these samples to get to know his music:

A cool summary from his new album "Dog" (small parts from all the song):

The same for his stellar album "Dancing":

If you like what you hear, check out http://www.keneally.com - www.keneally.com and find out about all the projects he's been participating in ...

About time guys - last guitarist with Zappa, replaced Vai. Has a worked with G3 (Vai and Satriani). Found on Yes (knock out version of Siberian Khatru) and Gentle Giant tribute albums - does reportedly about a 100 Steve Howe riffs in less than 1m.30s on Boil That Dust Speck. And has produced a run of great idiosyncratic albums under his own name and his band Beers For Dolphins. Problems is you never hear about him in the UK rock press, so you never know when he has albums out over here (or you have to import them)

Mike Keneally is absolutely amazing and definitely prog.

He has (or at least had the last time I checked) an internet radio playing his stuff on his site.

He also participated in the Free-Jazz project The Mistakes, helped Nick D'Virgilio on Kevin Gilbert's The Shaming Of The True, toured with Vai, recorded an album with piano versions of Vai's songs, recorded an album with the Metropole Orkest, recorded the absolutely free style album Nonkertompf, ...
