I really like Genesis, like many of you at this site, and noticed that not too long ago that Rutherford used a double neck guitar, one neck was a regular 6 string guitar, and the other was a regular bass. I also found out that guitar had four halves to it: two 6 strings, one 12 string, and a bass neck. I looked for it and found Shergold made the double neck (not the halves :( ) for 517 pounds (in other words, close to 1000 dollars US). Does anybody know if a guitar like the double neck (reg.guitar and bass necks) is manufactured by another company and is less than $1000? If so, where can I find it?

I was thinking of getting a guitar like this not long ago.

You might try a second hand Epiphone. I'm not sure if it's much under 517 pounds/1000 dollars but it's a suggestion.

Check ebay, just do a search for "double neck" to find approximate prices. (sorry, I cannot recommend ebay)  From what I can remember, it's mostly 6 and 12 string combos or 2 bass necks.  Then you can try the usual online guitar and music stores... or your local shops.

I saw a doubleneck at Guitar Center a few weeks ago and it was about 400 U.S dollars, but just by looking at it i could tell it was a crap "wannabe" from some unknown company

At musiciansfriend.com (which I use as a resource for pricing, which since theirs match my local Guitar Center's almost perfectly!) there is an OPL 6/12 for around $400, and they usually have an epiphone 6/12 for around $900 (?), but I can't seem to find it there, even though they usually have it.  Happy hunting!
