We all know that there are band haters out there...ARE YOU ONE OF THEM??? jejjeje, well which band do you think is hated the most in this site...or which band do you hate the most??? I dont hate any of them...its all about love ------------- "You want me to play what, Robert?"

For some reason I can't figure it seems to be ELP The most hated individual ( which I totally disagree with ) is Phil Collins

I would say Dream Theater. People act like they have no emotions at all and

or I guess you could say post Gabriel/Hackett Genesis but I feel that is

Holy God again that work hate. In my case except for 3 men Genesis, I don't have a strong dislike for almost any band. There's a difference between don't believing a band is Prog' and hating them, I don't like most King Crimson, but I can't deny they're 100% Prog', I like later Radiohead but I don't believe they're Prog'. Let's say mainstream Rap or Hip Hop, I don't hate them just don't absolutely care about them, my life would be exactly the same with or without them (maybe slightly better wthout them Sometimes strong beliefs or a defined taste is taken for hate, but I don't believe it is. I must choose styx because I think they sux. Well, since Yes and Dream Theater are my favorite bands.... Actually, I'm really confused. Most of the bands on the most-hated list you've made are bands I really like... *chooses 'any other'* ------------- How awesome. A place where I can talk about progressive rock and not hear "IS THIS ONE OF YOUR 50 HOUR LONG SONGS?!?!" I salute you. :D |

DT focuses a lot on technicality where many people feel that the feel or emotion of the song is lost due to the concentration on making the songs as complicated as the can be (and as fast as an instrument can be played.) A lot of times Dream Theater focuses on individual complicated parts instead of the overall song and atmosphere of the songs in general. This tends to rub off the fact that Dream Theater are unemotional and uninspired (which is just a common misconception IMO.) "Hate" is too strong a word. I'd rather say I don't care for a band, or even that I dislike it. Anyway, for me it would be post-Gabriel-and-Hackett Genesis. I find DT very cold and mechanical, but I own some of their records and sometimes even listen to them, though thery're far from being my favourites. |

Yeah, two. Fish-era, Hogarth-era I really like the "Brave" album, their best IMO.
Well, the most hated band is the Genesis trio, which is somehow well deserved sometimes. My vote goes to Dream Theater. By no means I can understand the oppinion many guys here have about Dream Theater. Where is their music cold? I agree that their music is focused on technics, but they have so much emotional passages in their music. They show off very often, but not too much to find it annoying IMO. I don't hate any of the bands mentioned in the poll, nor, most likely,
any bands on Prog Archives. I do hate a few non prog bands
though, mostly the mainstream crap rock of today, though I throw in a
little AC/DC hating as well  .
