I believe he was Jabba the Hutt's favourite keyboard player. 

I'm not sure if that's a recommendation

I think that imaginative character plays some humorous ethnic carricaturemusic, which is supposed to sound "alien" towards western moviewatchers.  Symphatetic blob though!
