I'm pretty sure that most people will vote Selling England, but in my opinion FOXTROT was Genesis' artistic peak, and their most complex and interesting album... What's your opinion?

I voted for Selling England By The Pound. I love this album, though both are masterpieces in my opinion, along with The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

Selling England By the Pound for four reasons. First it was my first Genesis album, and I think that it was first to really IMPRESS me so it will always have sentimental value. Secondly, I love the theatrical nature of the album, which seemed much more pronounced than Foxtrots. The third reason is Dancing With the Moonlit Knight and the fourth is The Cinema Show.

I like Foxtrot a little better because of More Fool Me (it makes Selling
England A LITTLE weaker IMO.) Nonetheless they are both incredible albums.

Foxtrot by a mile, SEBTP is great, but by far my least favorite Gabriel Genesis album.

I voted for Foxtrot.
The only 4 albums by Genesis that i can listen to are Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Euro & The Lamb Lies Down in Broadway.
This is how i rate them....
Nursery Cryme - 80% Foxtrot - 90% SEBTP - 85% TLLDOB - 75%

Two masterpieces but Foxtrot is slightly superior due to 'Supper's Ready', the music of the musics...

"just 'good' albums"? dude have you actually HEARD any of them? what do you mean by just 'good'?! I think saying that they are both perfect albums would be underestimating them!

I like Selling England, mainly because Firth Of Fifth is the best Genesis song I've heard but the difference is that Foxtrot has no weak tracks wereas More Fool Me and The Battle Of Epping Forest are not particully endering to me.

Foxtrot, my favorite album of all time It's just perfect. SEBTP has I Like What I Know and No Fool Me, which drag it down a bit. Both are five star albums, still.

I'm not a big Genesis fan, but Selling England has better songs than Foxtrot (except Supper's ready, of course). It's their best effort for my taste.

I like them both about the same, but Foxtrot slightly more. I'm surprised to see it winning by this much.

I can second every point here, except the, well, second one! I see the theatrical side of Foxtrot as being one of the reasons why I prefer Selling England (Epping Forest notwithstanding, a threatrical track no doubt, yet despite of this also one that I've always found quite easy to digest.)
SEBTP just sounds so much more sophisticated and musical to me. It seems to me that the band had clearly matured in their approach to making music by the time they started working on this gem -even though I have read that it wasn't the smoothest writing and recording session in the band's career.
The Cinema Show in particular takes my breath away. And when it is followed by Aisle of Plenty, well, that is as perfect as it gets...

As an album, I prefer Selling England (for I voted), but I think
Foxtrot has the better songs with Can-Utility and Supper's Ready...
Hard choice, this one.

Neither album can be considered heavyweights of prog in a classic album sense but I do prefer Foxtrot [just]!

By the looks of things most people like Genesis and find that Foxtrot is a masterpiec with no filler.

I disagree. Both are big prog classics in my opinion. Foxtrot has so many influential and beautiful tracks and of course Supper's Ready is one of the most important songs in prog history. Selling england has some great tracks aswel, Firth of Firth, The Cinema Show and Dancing with the Moonlit Knight are pure genius...
