Steve Hackett, even when Peter Gabriel is very solid also, not 100% Prog though. Not mentioned Jean Luc Ponty after being member of Mothers of Invention and Mahavishbu Orchestra had (and still has) a brilliant career. Iván -------------

Steve Hackett, because he does so many different things: Genesis-like solo albums, acoustic guitar albums, a blues album, an album with Satie interpretations, an album with an orchestra, a totally original Genesis tribute, he even formed some guitar supergroup with Steve Howe, and solo (rock) albums which are not Genesis-like, but where he's covering new ground. An Artist with a capital A! Like Nets, I like Wakeman's '73 - '77 as well. Peter Gabriel also has an impressive solo career.

It has to be Rick Wakeman by far! But though I must admit Steve Hackett has had a good solo career I love his solo stuff he has such diverse styles, I especially like is clasical guitar stuff. Gabrial I dnt think, or should that be I dnt know so as even though Im 20 I only know the song sledgehammer and most other people do as well and that the only song I know. I know Wakeman's stuff coz my mum has all of it and Iv only just found Hackett's and I love it. ------------- Prog is music for the mind Hear your Orphaned child! I think the most successful of them is Peter Gabriel, and personally i love his music... But for me the best is Rick Wakeman, he has made around 100 albums... obviously a lot of them aren´t good albums, but his 70´s period was really awesome... i choose him ------------- Follow me on twitter @memowakeman |
