one of the best band today. better then the mars volta IMO. I've
already say it and I will continue to say it. They are a prog band. And
I can't understand why some people go on saying they are not. Is there

Very good and somewhere on the fringes of Prog (and, a good deal more progressive than a good deal of modern Prog too  )

Well... don't listen to them, and you won't be insulted. I've got six or seven of their CDs as well as other recordings and I've managed not to hear them for a few months so I'm sure it can't be too difficult for you

oh I don`t listen to them by choice .. trust me .. l was subjected to them through friends and the Commercial big machine. Yuck they make my skin crawl !!!

I really like one of their tunes (the famous one) and they did a good show at Glastonbury in 97, but I find them irritating because it is so obvious at times they (conciously or otherwise) sound like Robert Wyatt and other proggers but refuse to acknowledge the link. ------------- Proud to be an un-banned member since 2005 |

kid a is prog. bends and other early albums aren't. ok
computer has really prog influences. but who really cares. they make
amazing music, that's the thing i like about them |

I'm very conflicted on this issue. I think Radiohead are progressive (not necessarily symphonic prog, but as has been said many times, prog is not one genre of music). I'm also conflicted on whether I like them. I don't like the Bends (that one is definitely not prog), but I do like OK Computer (that definitely is prog). I guess I'll just have to buy more of their albums! ------------- My recent purchases:

The results of this poll are irrelevant to this site. They're in the archives, ergo they're prog, as far as this site is concerned. As for whether they're any good or not, well, that's opinion - and opinions are like a certain part of the anatomy... everyone has one, but not everyone's is worth displaying in public. |
