I know this is a daring subject, but i will bring it up anyway.I think that this forum is starting to get a little predictable, and not just a bit.It seems like everybody agrees on everything, and the same albums and posts is repeateed again and again.Rarely can i go to the forum and discover a new band,or discuss a "hidden gem"Whats with you people, are there only people with a slight interest in music here?Where are the real devoted prog/music fans?Maybe on a different forum.I hope many people read this, and start posting many "new" topics.

Oh, mr.burns, as you are from Norway, maybe you would answer my topic about new Norwegian band Kvazar, and maybe you know anything about spanish band In Nomine and their latest album "Mythos"???

I have bougt the magic pie album, and also started a thread about it.But no one seemed interested at the time, they were probably ocupied with one of the "good old threads".This is always the response one get when one write something a little bit critical.I am not trying to sl*g someone off here,i am just trying to say that maybe a little more creativety wouldnt be out of the way.

I remember I posted a recommendation that interested nobody, even if it
included a free download. Maybe there is not many people interested in
contemporary music/proggy classical indie music.

Well it's like that I can't blame anyone. So if I can give you an advice, listen The Bell Orchestre, Clogs and Sickoakes !

Of course the longer you are here, the more often you get a feeling of deja-vu ... there are many topics that are brought up from time to time which have been discussed a million times before. Of course this is because newbies are registering everyday, and even if they use the search function they will sometimes just want to start a thread and ask for recommendations.
Speaking of recommendations: Don't limit yourself to the forum ... start exploring the lesser know bands in the archives. You know the genre specific top 100 lists, don't you?

I`ve have looked at the archives. And have to admit,i find it very interesting. It also have helped me discovering many new n\bands.But as i said, this forum is not of the same quality. Its like,if i havent been on for five days.Theres not that many new topics, and half of them is about something thats just been discussed.

Instead of complaining about how predictable the forum is, why not create unpredictable threads - if that's what you want.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

At least this post shows my point, the reply`s are very predictable. All very deffensive and like "you try to do it better" and so on.

Not being defensive .. I think we all agree that the forum is cyclical
and that if you hang around long enough you'll see the same threads
repeating over and over again ...
Also if you try to talk about a "smaller" band like Magic Pie ... or in
my case, Refugee, Blackfeather, Comus, Los Jaivos and so on (last
thread I revived was on East European prog!)... simply not enough
people will know what you're talking about ... and the thread will
slide off ...
There isn't a hard-and-fast solution for this "problem" but I dare say
those of us who've been here awhile have got used to the way it works
...
Try this ... when you discover something a little different ... search
for an old thread ... and chances are someone has brought it up before,
with very little response ... you can then revive the thread and see
what happens ...

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Hey Mr. Burns, I've been in at least 10 Progressive forums, and I see threads that are on all the 10 foruims more than once.
The genre has almost 30 years mostly everything has been said, but this is the only forum in which you can find new bands and learn about old bands you never heard from around the world.
Imagine, there's even one thread about Progressive Rap!!!!!!
