I've been reading reviews and threads in this place for a couple weeks
now. I was actually reading reviews on Ghost Reveries around the
internet, when I seen some here. It was the first time I had
really seen a prog community talk about them. I ended up
returning here to read about lots of other music! I am a 29 year old drummer (not that good anymore) and of course, to appreciate rhythm, what better style of music than prog or prog influenced bands! Raised on Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, some other classic rock; gravitated to metal like Iron Maiden (all time fav) and thrash metal in the 80's like Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, MOD, Overkill; during the 90's really got into playing and listening to stuff like Faith No More & Mr. Bungle, Punk rock like the Misfits/Samhain, early Bad Religion, Crass, Rudimentary Peni and other crust punk, and death metal like Macabre, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Gorguts. Nowadays I enjoy mostly death metal in the form of Opeth, listening to early black metal, and of course still rocking to Pink Floyd. I decided to register because of the intelligence level of this community. Very nice forum guys. |
