Any opinions on the Billboard Guide to Progressive Music?

I bought it two and a half years ago and it's become a great companion in my quest for progressive recordings. But, in my opinion,  some bands are ignored in the book. have can a book like this not include Gentle Giant of Caravan yet spending six pages on kate bush?

Overall the reviews are written well, but a little subjective. for example: King Crimson's Larks Tongues in Aspic isn't included in the main list of album review!

any opinions on this book?

I love the book, and I own it a few years now, and a month ago I ordered another album because of a review in the book: Schicke / Fuehrs / Froehling Collected Works, which I love.

One of the better record guides, I'd say. the book has it's limitations because he leaves out some important progressive artists, like Van der Graaf Generator and Gentle Giant. I disagree on some other choices too.

I don't mind though, I discovered some very good cd's because of the book. It's well worth it's money!

It's a very entertaining book but very subjective and a bit self-indulgent, Bradley loves to show his mouth-watering collection and jaw-dropping knowledge. On the other hand, that's not very uncommon for journalists and writers... The descriptions and reviews are very good and clear, you can use it perfect along the Prog Archives reviews  !
