I'm a qualified piano and voice teacher, but when I play in my collaboration "band", I play everything I can get my hands on, equally badly.

Keyboards, guitar and bass in a pinch ... I've played keyboards/piano the longest, but at this point I consider guitar my main instrument

Posted By: AtLossForWords

I'm a low end specialist.  I consider bass to be my main insturment, in this order: baritone/euphonium, trombone, tuba.  I also compose guitar parts and fool around on keyboards.

keyboards, electric/acoustic guitar and a little of bass guitar.

I play keyboards better than the guitar and the bass guitar. I can (or used to) play bohemian rhapsody, South Side of the Sky, Fade to Black, Firth of Fifth (TERRIBLY HARD), among many others. While I can certainly record with my keyboards, I am a terrible vocalist and not very good composing by ear (though in my mind, I can compose some good stuff, it is just that I cannot translate what I have in my mind in the keyboards very well)

I play the trumpet in the school band, I'm a senior in high school and I am not really interested in band at all. The only reason I practice, to get better on my trumpet, about 2 hours a day is so I can one day be in a prog band and write music.

I also jam on the acoustic a few hours a week, I prefere to play the bass tabs on my acoustic as aposed to playing real guitar parts. I mostly play chords on it though.

My favorite instrument of all time is the organ though, If I ever join a band I would be the key/piano/organ and trumpet.

I played piano when I was younger, but with no formal training. I mostly just played stuff that I'd heard by ear on my own time. When I got to middle school, I started playing violin. I dropped that as soon as I got into high school. I'm a senior in high school now. I plan on picking up keyboards and guitar once I have the money to do so.

Everything, but I can´t be a master in one instrument, because, I don´t know why, I don´t dedicate very much to the same thing. I can make some interesting sounds of everything, but to play good music, is difficult

But I prefer guitar and keyboards, the ones I´m more dedicated and I prefer to play.

I play trombone, guitar, and keyboard, although the only one I've had formal lessons in is trombone.

It's a tie of sorts between guitar and vocals. I make a poor attempt at keys as well.

Acoustic guitar: I've learned a little bit from several styles like flamenco (I'm waiting on a call from Paco De Lucia to play a duet..), blues, R&R, classical and I know a few chords to play keyboards, my ultimate dream is to buy a Mellotron M400 in order to wait or the love is mutual ...  ..?!

Violin is too difficult I played concertina for the past three years, but have unfortunately neglected it a bit lately.  I noodle around with bass and keyboards but haven't really learned anything too structural with them.  I do sing just about every day, so I guess by technicality that's my choice.  If it wasn't so difficult to take the boredom out of words I'd probably lyricize a bit more too

If I could afford a stick I'd probably try that out.  Tony Levin makes it sound so fun and easy

I'm actually a vocalist, me and my mate have a metal band. I do the growls / shrieks, and the other guy plays all instruments. So far we only have two songs  , and I'm just wondering why we haven't got a deal with a major record company yet

Sounds like you need some Opeth-style death metal vocal lessons!

Hi all.

Love this website!

This is my first post here. I've been lurking for weeks, and finally decided you're worthy of having me join you...

I've played keyboards, guitar and vocals in the past, but my main instrument nowadays is the computer! I compose large scale works using a few keyboards and a lot of modern software (it's amazing what you can do nowadays isn't it?)

You can listen to my compositions at www.herring.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk - not just samples, but complete works, including Midi and mp3 files. I've been into Prog since the mid-70's but I'm also influenced quite heavily by classical and electronic music. See what you think!

I was recently the vocalist of the ambient-goth-death metal band Aetas Obscura, which is now on hold. We also brought a demo out, which was reviewed on http://www.powermetal.de - www.powermetal.de and in the German Legacy mag.

We want to play together soon, but our guitarist and boss is quite very busy at the moment. He studies and is jobbing. The band still has contact. We sometimes meet for a couple of drinks.

Vocalist.

I was in this band for awhile that started out covering Rush and Zeppelin. I guess you could say I sound kinda like a mix between Geddy Lee and Jon Anderson (But I guess since I'm a girl, that's not too impressive).
