did anyone see Mastermind on BBC2 UK last night - one guy's specialist subject was Pink Floyd - he did well - but it would have been nice to have had 20 minutes of questions on there.

Can anyone name a Beatles song in which part of a David Bowie song is sung in the lyrics and a David Bowie song in which part of a Beatles song is sung in the lyrics. I know its not Prog Rock but its still a good question aint it !?!? And they are pretty good even though I like Prog. Drive in Saturday was a hoot when I was a teenager.

In Bowie's Young Americans, the girls signing in the back say one time "I heard the news today oh boy", of course it is A Day in the Life !!!  But I don't know on which Beatles song we find Bowie's lyrics

Anyone have the answer ???

Its a bit obscure - its from Yellow Submarine LP and its a track called 'Its All Too Much' - it features 'Sorrow' - '...with your long blond hair and your eyes of blue...etc'

and yes I know that Bowie hadn't covered it ('70's) when the Beatles tune (60's) was made, but 'hey - what the heck'.

You don't know when "A Day In The Life" was made? It was in 1967, and was on classic "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club Band", an album which prompted the prog rock movement, according to Mr Fripp!!
