Many of my most pleasant contemporary discoveries are from South America: MAR DE ROBLES (they're listed here), ANGULART, TRYO, all from Chile; TANGER (also listed here), LAS OREJAS Y LA LENGUA, HYACINTUS (listed), ZONDA PROJECKT, from Argentina.

IZZ, Salem Hill, Syzygy and Singularity are among my favorites. K-2,Ken Jaquess new band featuring Allan Holdsworth, Ryo Okumoto and the late Shaun Guerin, is about to be released. There are so many prog bands out there.... The Flower Kings have new album. Spock's Beard's new album will out in a couple of months (See the interview with NDV on PROGRESSIVEWORLD). I'm really only scratching th surface.

THE MARS VOLTA oceansize
these are the best new acts cos they are bringing prog rock into the new millenium and bringing in the influences that made it so great in the 70s.

And there is that threat Neverwasneverwillbe will be finished by Alternity Records, with Holdsworth, Levin, Gleed, Eckstein and contribution from Jerry Goodman.

Latest News: Also -- a little (well some MAJOR) **Alternity News** to pass on...
We have some projects in development:
Next up (late October release -- this Christmas, give the gift of Allan!) -- AH's 2CD "Against The Clock: The Best of Allan Holdsworth"
early 2005? -- Soma II featuring Mark Gleed, Allan Holdsworth, Tony Levin, and Guy Eckstine.
"Snakes and Ladders" (working title) -- Allan Holdsworth, Joel Taylor, and Ernest Tibbs.

Godspeed You Black Emperor! (Or, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, I'm not sure which is correct) is really awesome stuff. I highly suggest it, but it's basically all instrumental.
