Hi,

Nice ....

(Interesting that you did this ... I was thinking of doing a Ken Russell thing, but it would be so big, that I gave up!!!)

The Damned is a Joseph Losey film, and he went on to do some interesting films, though this one, had some issues with Hammer (the horror studio) as Joseph Losey was not too happy with the gratuitous violence required and requested. He had the script redone just before shooting started ... that did not exactly made him a favorite with the studios, but there were others that did not want to work with Hammer either, despite some directors coming out of there with some fine works.

Women in Love is the D. H. Lawrence's novel and had a famous wrestling scene towards the end, with Oliver Reed and Alan Bates, which is a turn off for a lot of folks. It was done really well with outstanding cinematography by a respected Billy Williams. The women were Glenda Jackson and Jennie Linden. The film. generally, was well received, but by that time, Ken Russell already had a good reputation for doing stuff by authors and historical/famous folks.

The only thing missing here that probably could be listed, but is a rare find from the series "Omnibus" (done for TV) of which an Oliver Reed show is a part of it ... Ken Russell's tale about the painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Oliver Reed is the lead in it, with some outstanding folks behind him. It was also titled "Dante's Inferno" ... and I think it is only found on the Ken Russell DVD set with all his early stuff including the film on Elgar. Dante's Inferno dates around 1967 per Wiki. I think it was the film that gave Oliver Reed the crazy reputation and you can see it when you watch this film, although the acting in England from the RSC and NT, had already started becoming "physical" like the American Theater, and Oliver would be in their midst the Marlon Brando, so to speak. You noticed him right away.
