Three of Turkey’s Leading Musicians Return to the Stage with Their New Album
A 63-Minute Instrumental Journey Crafted with Over 30 Years of Experience
Three influential figures in Turkey’s music scene—Mert Alkaya, Faruk Kavi, and Volkan Konuk—are gearing up to present their first instrumental album in the Experimental/Post-Rock/Post Metal genre, shaped through two years of rehearsals.
Recorded over two years at Shark Studios, the album features music and arrangements by the band. Mixing and mastering were completed by Larsen Premoli at RecLab Studios in Italy. The album cover and vinyl design were created by Aslı Sezer.
With a collective experience of over 30 years, these musicians—who have performed with some of Turkey’s most renowned artists and contributed to countless concerts and albums—unite to deliver a brand-new musical creation rooted in improvisation. Spanning 65 minutes and divided into five sections, the album invites listeners to a unique musical journey with atmospheric and high-energy performances.
Mert Alkaya – Drums
Known for his work with iconic artists such as Joe Lynn Turner (vocalist of Deep Purple and Rainbow), guitarist Cem Köksal, legendary Turkish rock band Bulutsuzluk Özlemi, progressive band Nemrud, and alternative music pioneers like Aylin Aslım, Feridun Düzağaç, and Demir Demirkan, Alkaya has performed thousands of concerts in his 33-year career, including numerous tours across Turkey. For the past decade, he has focused on personal projects and drum education. A representative of the world-renowned drum brand Sonor in Turkey, Alkaya continues to bring a new dimension to music with his energetic, dynamic, and original rhythms in this project.
Faruk Kavi – Guitar
In addition to performing with prominent artists such as Pamela, Teoman, and Ogün Sanlısoy, Kavi is also the product manager for Fender Turkey. His deep expertise in both the technical and artistic aspects of guitar playing enriches the group’s performances with a distinctive sound and meticulous musical depth.
Volkan Konuk – Bass Guitar
Beginning his music career with classical guitar training at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, Konuk later shifted his focus to sound engineering, graduating from Bilgi University’s Sound Engineering program. Known for his work on projects with the Mr. Lama creative agency and his mixing contributions on The Voice Turkey, Konuk not only handles bass guitar in this project but also oversees the entire recording and production process. His technical mastery ensures every detail of the music is carefully refined.
