Hi from Kyiv, fellow prog lovers!

I'm the frontman of Ukrainian prog rock band Obiymy Doschu. You may have heard of us before — on ProgArchives, our last album Son is  https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=56129" rel="nofollow - rated  in the Top 20 Crossover Prog albums of all time.

Last Friday, we released our first song and video in almost 5 years — the first single from an ambitious upcoming album, a true labor of love we've been meticulously crafting for 7 years, full of intricate melodies, lush live string arrangements, elements of post-rock, jazz & contemporary classical and songs perfected over years like monumental symphonies. It's a surprisingly uplifting and hopeful record despite being made amid war and destruction. It has top-tier production (mixed by Bruce Soord!) and an enormous amount of love & care put into it.

The song itself is about our connection to our childhood, and the importance of reconnecting to it as adults, so the video for the song was made by my 10-year old twin daughters (English subtitles available).

It's been very hard to get listeners to discover us again after such a long break (and the music industry changed quite a bit), and the last several years in Ukraine have been especially challenging, so any help getting the word out about our new single/video and the upcoming album is much appreciated.

Thank you, and don't hesitate to ask any questions about our music or life as a musician in Ukraine.

P.S. Apologies if this is not the right place to post — I initially posted on https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=134017" rel="nofollow - Welcome artists subforum but wasn't sure it's the right place.

Thank you! We're thinking of releasing vinyl for the new album for the first time. It's quite a bit of a risk because it requires a big upfront cost and it's not yet clear the sales will be net positive — we're still a relatively obscure band. But we'll try to make it work! 🙏

I proudly own your "Son" CD.  My husband loves it.  He keeps it in his car.  We listen to "Son" on vacation trips and Sunday drives through the outskirts.  My next-door neighbor Vladimir is a Ukraine-born concert pianist.  Your album brought tears to his eyes.

This is the kind of comments that makes it all worth it. Thanks so much for sharing! Send warm regards to my namesake from me ❤️

Hey friends! We’re going towards 2025 full of optimism. The other day we finally got the final mastering of our new album, which will be called “Vidrada” (roughly translated as joy/refuge in Ukrainian). 50 minutes, 8 songs, each with exquisite melodies, touching lyrics, warm and clear vocals, lush live strings combined with skillful guitar, drum, and piano playing, top-tier recording and mixing, beauty, tenderness, intelligence, melancholy, and everything else our listeners love in our music. It is also our most uplifting album, full of warmth and hope, despite the difficult times it was created in.

Although the album is finally ready, you'll have to wait a few more months — we'll be carefully preparing for its release so that we don't repeat the mistakes of our previous albums, and release it so that it reaches as many people as possible — these songs deserve it. And to ease the anticipation, like our last single, we will release a few more songs from the album along with beautiful videos we are currently working on (and will try to open the preorders on Bandcamp ASAP).

We’re grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for keeping us alive and able to create, want to thank everyone who supported us this year, and wish you joy and fulfillment of your warmest dreams in the coming year! ❤️

For those intimidated by Ukrainian lyrics or curious to know what we're singing about, we've just updated our Bandcamp page with lyrics translated in English for ALL of our songs (that's 2.5 hours of beautiful music). Appreciate every follow 🙏  https://obiymydoschu.bandcamp.com/" rel="nofollow - https://obiymydoschu.bandcamp.com/

Hey friends — we've just released the second single from the new album. It's on the poppier side, but with an important message that helped us through some tough times. We also made the video ourselves we are quite proud of. Please check it out! (English subtitles available)

Hey everyone! We've just opened digital pre-orders for the upcoming album, which will be released on May 30. It's been a long and difficult journey, but so excited to finally see the finish line!

On Bandcamp, we're offering two exclusives: HiRes audio (96k/24 as opposed to 44.1k/16 on streaming platforms), and official acoustic guitar tabs for all songs, carefully transcribed by me exactly as I play them. :) Don't hesitate to follow our page there even if you're not interested in pre-ordering!

Also, if you're an album reviewer — drop me a private message and I'll be happy to share a download code for listening in advance.

I may be in the minority, but I almost always prefer bands releasing albums in their native language, even if I won't understand the lyrics. It makes it makes for a more interesting listen and gives them a more authentic feel.
