Who sounds like the most dreamy classic progressive rock band? I kind of think it's Camel. They have so many dreamy songs...
What do you think, guys? Which classic's output is dreamiest for ya?

Eloy comes to mind as well, yet can't beat Camel.

I would go with early PFM when they had that pastoral thing going on. It was mainly the first 2 albums though. Camel is maybe okay for Mirage. What about Renaissance? I'm not a big fan but they do have that quality on their classic albums for sure. Up to date I would mention Karfagen for their sumptious sound that carries you away. Steve Hackett is also good for this on At The Edge of Light and Surrender Of Silence.

And the title track to Spectral Mornings without question is dreamy.

But as a band and overall, I agree with Camel.

For me it has to be Pink Floyd from Meddle to Animals, with Dark Side Of The Moon being the dreamiest.
I've fallen asleep to the latter many a time...

Some really great suggestions already, especially Camel and Karfagen.
Hackett's A Form In Wax from A Midsummer Night's Dream was the first tune, however, to pop in my head.

There's a lot of dreamy stuff in the prog world. Also in experimental metal:
Just go to the track that starts after minute 23

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I've got Popol Vuh's Hosianna Mantra LP on the turntable at the moment - super dreamy!  I dig Embryo, especially the albums with Mal Waldron.  And those mid-70s Harmonium albums.  Man, now I'm thinking of albums by Eno, which leads in one direction to Faust, Ashra, Neu!, Harmonia, Guru Guru, then in another direction to Wyatt, Riley, Oldfield, Gong, the Softs (nothing dreamier than the Soft Weed Factor from Six)......now I gotta go search the shelves for my copy!

Although not "classic progressive rock", give Alice Coltrane's Impulse albums a try; Pharoah Saunders carries on in this same vein; Don Cherry, especially the Brown Rice LP; maybe give Miles' In a Silent Way a spin.....or the first Weather Report album.

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Kate Bush's The Dreaming is a work of art way ahead of its time.

Some tunes by the Alan Parsons Project are very dreamy.
