I have been admiring Stereo Lab for some time now, and the more I hear them I find that they deserve a spot in the Prog bands list....

Any arguments as too "If they are Prog" and "How we can define their sound"?

I'm not sure what I'd call Stereolab. They're a curious band - they seem to
blend influences from all kinds of interesting music and yet make music
that - to my ears - is not very interesting.

I like a lot of Stereolab's albums, especially Dots and Loops, Mars Audiac Quintet and Emperor Tomato Ketchup, but I don't know that I'd call them prog. There's a strong Krautrock influence (the rhythms in particular owe a lot to Neu!/Harmonia/La Dusseldorff) but there are many other influences in there as well. Like Air and Roysokopp they're a band likely to appeal to prog fans, but I don't think that they're appropriate for inclusion in the archives.
