Hello friends of Progarchives. I would like to add a /album to the database. I think it fits the "Canterbury Scene" category perfectly and deserves to be in the database. They've released a great first album! (and they'll soon release their second one).

Artist Name: Actionfredag
Subgenre: Canterbury Scene

Biography:

Action Fredag is a collaboration between members of several bands (Tusmørke or Jordsjø, among others) with guest contributions from members of other Norwegian progressive bands. Formed in early 2010, the sound of this Norwegian band fluctuates between the Canterbury sound of classic 70s essence and progressive rock/jazz-rock with powerful metal contributions. Their first album was released in 2023 and is titled "Turist i eget liv". This first album is as Canterbury Sound tour de force, but with a multitude of influences that give them a particular and unique sound.

The Band:

Ivar Haugaløkken Stangeby (keyboards)
Aksel Valheim Lem (guitars)
Katrina Lenore Sjøberg (vocals)
Martin Hella Thørnquist (guitars, vocals)
Espen Fladmoe Wolmer (drums)
Ola Mile Bruland (bass)

The album "Turist i eget liv" (2023)

The album contains contributions by Åsa Ree (Åsa, Meer) on violin, Mari Mile Bruland on clarinet, Steinar Børve (Panzerpappa) on saxophone, Kristian Frøland (Jordsjø) on glockenspiel, Aleksandra Morozova (Chronicles of Father Robin, Mt. Melodie) on vocals , Håkon Oftung (Jordsjø) on flute, Julia Wiedlocha on harp and Liv Santos Holm (Maria Orieta band and Lupa) on melodica.

"Turist i eget liv" was recorded at Bjørnerød farm in Våler by Kristian Frøland in 2020 and at Metronomicon Audio by Thomas Meidell. The album was mixed by Aleksander Sjølie and mastered by Kjetil Bergseth. The cover is designed by Emil Johnson Ellefsen.

Huh, that's odd. The Canterbury team already cleared this last year and Awesomeprog lists it as "added", but evidently they never were. I'll try to get around to this somewhere this week.

They will be releasing their new album in November, so it would be great to add them.
