Hello friends of Progarchives. I would like to add a new musical project/album to the database. It is another of the releases we will make with the ARM label in September. It is Cielo Drive, of which I leave you the biography (written by himself) and a little information. </span>The project's main influence is Krautrock, and it has a predominantly German sound, although it also contains many influences from industrial music. Everything is layered with a dark and cinematic atmosphere.

Artist Name: Cielo Drive
Subgenre: Krautrock
Album: Pieces From a Broken Star

Biography:

Cielo Drive is the Krautrock/Post-Industrial music project of Óscar Sanfiz (Lugo, Spain). It was started in 2021 and the artist himself is responsible for the composition and execution of most of the instruments and sound manipulations. "Pieces FROM a Broken Star” is his first studio album. This record is presented as a sequence of simply numbered tracks, each contributing to a sonic narrative that culminates in the final track. The tracks follow one another in a flow that balances tranquility with intensity, reflecting the complexity of a fragmented star that still emits light in the darkness.

The cut-up technique is employed not only in the musical composition, but also as a central focus of the album. Sounds are cut, rearranged, and fused together to create textures that invite listeners to discover hidden meanings in the apparent disorder. Each piece is an element of a larger whole.

"Pieces From a Broken Star" Credits:

Óscar Sanfiz: Guitars, Bass, Kalimba, Voices, Samples, Sound Manipulation & Devices

Dirk Ittenbach: Keyboards, Swarmatron & Samples
Alberto Guillén: Drums & Electronic Percussion

Performance "Number X": Marta Prieto
Photography: Óscar Sanfiz
Artwork & Design: Iago Méndez

Mixing & Mastering by Óscar Sanfiz
Produced & Edited by Óscar Sanfiz & Javier Miranda

The album isn't released until 4th October, and I can't find any listening samples on line. The team can't carry out an evaluation until the album has actually been released, and is available for streaming, so maybe you could 'bump' this topic when the time comes.

Edit: I know you've already sent samples to one of the team members, but I doubt that it'll be taken any further until the album has been officially released.

Would you be able to update the bio to add the city/country in which the musician is based, along with the date of the project's inception? Also according to RYM, he had a debut album in 2021 that has since been scrubbed from the web. Could you possibly PM me a listening link?

Would it be better to propose it for "PSYCHEDELIC/SPACE ROCK"?

I misspoke; I meant PSIKE, but yes, they're being considered under Krautrock. I'm preparing to perform at a psych rock festival of my own tomorrow, and plan to listen after sundown tonight to prepare.
