It's hard to pick-up only three and it's changing year after year.

Recently, I often played:

Genesis - The Musical Box

Earth & Fire - Storm and Thunder

King Crimson - Starless

But it could have been:

Yes - Close to the Edge

VDGG - Lost

Strawbs - New World

Or why not:

Anglagard - Jordrok

Porcupine Three - Shesmovedon

Patto - The Man

.....

As others have suggested, music matures on you over time and new stuff keeps on coming, so it's got to be at least a two-level thing:

Forever           Camel       Ice

Yes        &nb sp; The Gates of Delirium

IQ        &nbs p;   The Enemy Smacks

This Week      Galleon      The Price

The Lens   Of Tide and Change

IQ         &nbs p;  Harvest of Souls

Definitely
Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd and
Misplaced Childhood (for me the whole album is one continuous track) by Marillion,

but as for the third... so many options. Shall I choose Awaken or Firth of Fifth or Fugazi or Incubus or This Strange Engine or Angelina or Echoes or The Trees or San Jacinto or Secret World or Wond'ring Aloud or Street Spirit (Fade Out). As some of those are not exactly prog, I think I'll finally pick up

Incubus, by Marillion again.
