I love Queen and was glad to see them finally added to the Archives.

I haven't heard anything past 'The Works', and I'm not sure I want to, but I am curious about 'Innuendo'. I think they started to do downhill with 'The Game', so my first 7 are all albums I love, the rest, no so much...

Glad to see you rate very high 'jazz' by queen, Gronostay. i also think it's one of their best works, the vocal choruses are great and there is not a weak song on it.

11.The Works This is more like Queen! A bit market following rather than leading, so 6.5/10

12.A Kind Of Magic Generally quite nasty. I enjoyed the film "Highlander" very much, but felt it was spoiled a little bit by the horrible 1980s production on Queen's generally sub-par songwriting. Not quite as bad as Hot Space 3/10

13.The Miracle I pretty much gave up on Queen at this point, so haven't bought this one.

14.Innuendo I heard the title track in the charts and nearly fell off my chair in excitement! The rest of the album is pretty darn good too - apart from the title track and "The Show Must Go On", both of which are outstanding, especially when you consider what Freddie was going through. 8/10

15.Made IN Heaven Haven't got this.

Queen is definitely not progressive rock. The administrator seems to believe it is, though....so be it. But to rate the Queen albums, well I'll just list my personal favorites:

1. Queen - "Liar" and "Keep Yourself Alive" alone make that album classic material. I like that stuff the best.

2. News of the World - like the album above, not too many frills just good sounding, straight-to-the-point rock. "We Will Rock You / [..] Champions" I actually think is the worst track on this album.

3. Jazz - same type of comment as above. Mostly a great listening experience. Definitely worth the price.

4. A Night at the Opera - about as artsy as they ever got. A little overbearing with the choir boy stuff, but this did contain a few unforgettable tracks. "Death on Two Legs", "Prophet's Song", things like that.

5. The Game - I remember when this album came out. It was the And Then Were Three moment for Queen...pissed the hardcore fans off. Moaned that they has 'sold out' to disco. But there is some excellent rock music embedded in there, in between the disco songs.

All the other Queen I albums I don't appreciate enough to comment on.

I like Queen, even though they had commercial success with lots of hit singles. I particularly love Bohemian Rhapsody, which to me is a full-on progrssive rock track. Their best album though is Sheer Heart Attack, which contains the very heavy Brighton Rock.

Not long after Bohemian Rhapsody became a number single, John Miles had a hit with Music and the Zaragon album. He is also considered a 'pop' star, but Zaragon is a brilliant progressive rock album.
