Mine is Tarkus. Well, actually, not really. But it is a very hard almost pointless choice. Funny topic nonetheless. Note that I could have extended the list, but it actually serves as my top 9. |

The importance of Supper's Ready regarding the development of the progressive rock genre and its influence on the way ~20 min. prog epics have ever since been written can't be disputed. However, to be frank, it clearly shows its age. Especially, in the production department. I personally believe that in 1972, the pristine rich fat sonic production that I love so much, hadn't arrived yet, and before 1974-1945 rock music had a certain raw quality to it that tends to feel a bit rough and undercooked to my ear. Anyway, to answer the poll question which reads: "What is the best ~20min prog song?", my answer is.... none from the list. I always vote for Gates Of Delirium so this gives me a real headache lol. I just can't decide between the ELP, Yes and Genesis tracks which are about equal for me. I'll vote for Echoes then.
