Mine is Tarkus. Well, actually, not really. But it is a very hard almost pointless choice. Funny topic nonetheless.
Note that I could have extended the list, but it actually serves as my top 9.

Best as in best for me from what is in the poll:
"A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers" over "Echoes"
Actually "Plague" might well get my vote in any such poll.

Supper's Ready. Today we will be dining on microwaved wet vac filters and flambéed elbow pads in a nice hollandaise sauce.

The importance of Supper's Ready regarding the development of the progressive rock genre and its influence on the way ~20 min. prog epics have ever since been written can't be disputed. However, to be frank, it clearly shows its age. Especially, in the production department. I personally believe that in 1972, the pristine rich fat sonic production that I love so much, hadn't arrived yet, and before 1974-1945 rock music had a certain raw quality to it that tends to feel a bit rough and undercooked to my ear.
Anyway, to answer the poll question which reads: "What is the best ~20min prog song?", my answer is.... none from the list. Here's my top 3 favorite ~20 minute prog epics as of now (no order):
■ Roine Stolt - Humanizzimo ■ Simon Says - Brother Where' You Bound ■ Citizen Cain - Somewhere But Yesterday
honorable mentions:
■ The Tangent - In Darkest Dreams ■ Moon Safari - We Spin the World ■ Magic Pie - Change ■ Transatlantic - Duel with the Devil

I chose Tubular Bells before I'd even seen the options, with Ommadawn running a close second.

I always vote for Gates Of Delirium so this gives me a real headache lol.
I just can't decide between the ELP, Yes and Genesis tracks which are about equal for me. I'll vote for Echoes then.

For me, Supper's Ready is tied for first place with Tarkus, followed very close by Close to the Edge and 2112.

Tarkus. If you are a fan of classic Prog, you have to have a copy of this somewhere in your collection. Original album, live, on a collection, whatever.

Echoes, Ctte and Tarkus.
Echoes has psychdelia, prog, bluesy guitar and good lyrics.

'Echoes' for me - seeing as Meddle is the album that introduced me to the Floyd, and ultimately got me into prog.

1. Supper´s Ready 2. Close to The Edge / Awaken (even though it´s 4.30 minutes away from reaching 20...) 3. Echoes / Dogs (even though it's 3 minutes away from reaching 20...) 4. 2112 (especially "i. The Overture", extraordinary)

Tell you what? I've seen plenty of polls and lists about side-long/20 minute prog tracks on this forum and I've realized that very very rarely do people mention, what is to me one of the finest 70s canterbury epics ever - 9 ft. Underground by Caravan.

My second choice would have been CTTE - Yes's masterpiece, and from their seminal album IMO.
