Math rock? Let's hope for something very prog-ish in the vein of their first albums.

Don Airey will probably make this interesting as he did with Whoosh! He's more a show off than Jon Lord ever was being more in the Keith Emerson mould. I like!

I wouldn't expect a lot of math. The concept behind the title is that, being five, they sound as one. I'm reasonably optimistic, anyway

I was actually referring to 2(lim sin(x)/x) + |3๎ + 2ĵ + sqrt(3)^k|-S^2_0 xdx-lim(n+1/n)^n+S^0_1 dy-sum^inf_B=1 1/2^B+|221-1013-13| LOL

EDIT: I did the math:

- lim of (sin x)/x when x goes to infinity is 1. When multiplied by 2, it yields... 2;
- |3i + 2j + sqrt(3)k| = sqrt(3^2 + 2^2 + 3) = sqrt(16) = 4;
- S^2_0 x dx = x^2/x]^2_0 = 4/2 = 2;
- lim of ((n+1)/n)^n when n goes to infinity is just another definition of e;
- S^e_1 dy = e - 1;
- sum of 1/2^n from n = 1 to infinity converges to 1;
- the determinant of the matrix |(2,2,1),(-1,0,-1),(3,-1,3)| is -1.

Therefore we have 2 + 4 - 2 - e + e - 1 - 1 - 1 = 4 - 1 - 1 - 1 = 4 - 3 = 1!

Here's the first track, released today. Video will be released in about two hours. It's a proggy track, quite listenable but certainly not incredibly innovative either. Smile

The keyboard riff sounds like Reelin in the Years in a different key.

From 2:00.

Pretty good stuff. I would like some more bass in the mix, but maybe it's just me.

^^ Maybe it is part because Deep Purple has been so influential, but to me that sounds overly generic. It's competent but not creative nor innovative. It is quite fun in a Spinal Tap-sounding way.

Good song from one of the more talented bands in the world of rock.

This still beats the new David Gilmour track by a nautical mile.

^ A new Justin Bieber would beat that track.    Or at least I had wanted that say that, but I just listened to "The Piper's Call" and liked it considerably more than I had expected. The Deep Purple track is pretty good (in a Spinal Tap way, but I love Spinal Tap), but is too safe and generic to these ears, and while Gilmour's has safe qualities (and generic), it resonates more with me. I was pleasantly surprised as I had heard such bad things about it -- could be a case of lower expectations in part. To each their own, of course. Neither seem bad to me.

^ I really don't like the new DG track based on my first listen impression - DG is not for me (and I even liked Momentary Lapse of Reason).

But neither really rocks ... sadly. Leave it to the new generation (who aren't exactly spring chickens either) ...
