My favourite two Genesis albums as well, but in reverse order. Foxtrot has no weak songs, but the best ones in Selling are better than the best in Foxtrop, in my opinion. If only they had put something listenable in the place of More Fool Me...
I know what I like (and do not)!

Foxtrot for me! my favorite, possibly the best. Would definitely
have voted for Selling England by the Pound for best, except for...More
Fool like Me.

I like most of their early albums, and I would have to choose between
Selling and the Lamb. I like the Lamb a little bit more because is
sounds more mature, the production is better and I like the Album cover
(and story) better. But the difference is not very big!

Nursery Cryme, with The Lamb a close second.
Selling England and Foxtrot are good too, but that compelling Gabriellian weirdness I love so much is more diluted.

I used to think Foxtrot was much better, what with Watcher of the
Skies, Get Em' Out By Friday and Supper's Ready being classic tracks.
But the musical evolution that happens to Genesis between the two
albums is astounding. The drumming is vastly improved, they have a
better sense of atmosphere and the ideas are developped much more
nicely both in terms of lyrics and soundscape. The fact that Selling
England contains both Firth of Fifth and The Cinema Show, their two
best and most mature songs means a lot. The extended keyboard section
in The Cinema Show is one of the great moments in prog rock histrory.
It cannot be overlooked.

At the moment: Foxtrot, but I don't know which one is better or not (Between The Lamb, SEBTP and Foxtrot)

One of the most difficult of polls for me, as I love every album from Trespass to Wind And Wuthering. Any of them will do for me, but, as always, I have to vote for what I consider the best prog album of all time, the one with the most beautiful passages, interesting twists and turns, tremendous storytelling and superb musicianship, there can be only one - THE LAMB!

even thouth there´s no song like supper´s ready on "selling England", it has more great songs.
It´s better as whole. It would be perfect but Collins had to sing that terrible song (OMFG)

Selling England by the Pound. I've been listening to it a lot over the past year and I appreciate it more each listen. Also "Lamb" and "Trick of the Tail". Dare I say it.... I've never really gotten into "Foxtrot". Agree with Steve Hackett's comment that SEBTP was their best Gabriel album (and their best period).

Have to go with Foxtrot at the top, closely followed by the '74 and '73 efforts.

Wow!! Very hard question... I vote for "Lamb" because I think that closed a legendary age... I really love every Genesis' album, from Trespass to Duke, but I think that "Lamb" has a powerful load of emotions...

Selling England By The Pound is (for me) the greatest in a string of almighty albums ...
I fell in love with it first, but I won't argue with anyone who thinks
Nursery Cryme or Foxtrot is the ultimate prog album, either

I have got to go with Selling England by the Pound here.
Of course, Foxtrot has Supper's Ready, but as a whole SEBTP is just untouchable as far as 70's Progressive rock goes.

I wish there was a choice that said "Can't decide between Foxtrot, Nursery
Cryme, Selling England, or the Lamb." Because I would chose that one right
away. Last month for a while, my favorite was "the Lamb" but now I'm
leaning towards "Foxtrot." I ended up voting for the lamb anyway because
it's a double album monster with not a single second of useless music.

Infact this poll sums up quite nicely what albums you would net as a genesis fan...if you like genesis a bit then get Nursery cryme, Foxtrot, Selling england and The lamb...if genesis is in your top 10 list then get Trespass, A trick of the tail and wind and wuthering...and if you are really hardcore then get the rest

Selling England By The Pound, the album with the most variety and dynamics and containing 3 of my top favourite Genesis tracks: Firth Of Fifth, After The Ordeal and The Cinema Show.

I don´t have a favourite. I started listning to early Genesis with "live 73" which has songs from three different albums. Still, my favourite song is "firth of fifth from a 4th album and I love "In the cage" live from ´82. I started listening to Genesis with "Tonight tonight". So, a favourite album, no. If I had to throw away all but one, I´d keep ....."The lamb" because it contains more songs..hahaha
