Hi,
I have liked what I have heard so far, and would gladly review it, but being on a slim retired budget, I can not afford to buy many things, not to mention that my bank here thinks that bandcamp is a scam and locks my credit card ... and there is nothing I can do about it, and bandcamp doesn't give a poop!
It ends up being a problem for a lot of music, but I doubt that bandcamp cares ... and I certainly can not count on folks just giving everything away ... to everyone.
Considering that my foreign film reviews are over 600 already and music reviews over 100 (I don't usually post them here on PA other than in one of these threads), that most folks don't look at, unfortunately.
There is on my website a huge list of album/CD and DVD (specially!) reviews, not to mention an uncanny number of artistic reviews for many folks ... but sadly, just like someone here would rather use a wiki review of the VU and not delve into Patti's book, or even Kim Gordon't book which has so much about the art scene in NY, and even a film like Basquiat ... just mentioning it, makes a lot of these folks upset because it has a tendency to break apart their little theories about their favorites, which of course is not much about the artist anyway ... but then ... other than the well known artists I have met and learned a lot from, the majority are into the fame, not the art itself ...
Maybe one day some folks will know the difference.
In the meantime, time to go see "Nightwatching" again ... what a fabulous enterprise that film is ... and something that "progressive music" can not understand or live with because of its rankings and ratings ... it means today's children simply won't get a chance.
I raise a glass to your courage ... much needed all around. And even Gayle will probably remember me for writing a lot of Djam Karet reviews, but (again) I know they can't afford to send me a CD every month ... and that means I have to wait for Amazon to have some used copies so I pay a smaller price, which sadly, does not benefit the artist at all ... but it's all I can afford!
So sorry to sound a bit somber, but sometimes the reality really hurts the whole thing! And I wish I could help better ... someday ...
