What ya all think of this remarable artist...he have done some really cool stuff in the 70's and i dont think many artists have been into so many strange genres as he has... My favorite albums: 1.Killers 2.Welcome to my nightmare 3.Billion dollar babies

School's Out might have been his most progressive. Apart from that one killer (no pun intended) song, the rest of it was very hard to get into. [edit] and he might have travelled a different path if that one song hadn't been such a massive hit |

I think he went a bit Devo style in the early 80s. Flush the Fashion and Da Da had him short, back and sides but he had returned to his old self by the time he recorded Trash in 1989. I've got Welcome to my Nightmare, Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, From the inside and Lace and Whiskey on LP. He mixed it up alot more than most rockstars and there was a unique edge and dark humour about his music then IMO. ------------- Eternity |

Alice Cooper got me started on music when my Mum bought me a copy of NME with a free Alice Cooper flex-disc featuring Slick Black Limousine and some extracts from Billion Dollar Babies. I went out and bought the album (my first!) and it's still great now. Recently bought Welcome to my Nightmare which is also excellent. Anyone who hasn't heard his bizarre first two albums should give them a listen too. |

The 70s Alice Cooper albums that I've heard are superb, and yes 'School's Out' and the 'Welcome To My Nightmare' album have elements of prog- certainly I wouldn't think for a minute of adding Alice Cooper though, in case anyone takes that admission as a proposal for 'Alice in the Archives!' I really hated 'Trash' and all the other 80s stuff though- Alice had somehow turned into Bon Jovi by the end of the 80s... |

Who could argue with Killer? and the stage show?
you would just have to let your imagination try to capture it now! I saw him on the Love It to Death, Killer, Schools Out, Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to My Nightmare Tours. AWESOME! The peak was Killer with Alices head lopped off and Dead Babies everywhere. Billion Dollar Babies was the commercial highlight and the band was better live than Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin or the Who. WOW!

Alice is a real icon. I dont have much of his music, but I saw him live back in '86 (I think) and he was excellent! Sounded great, and he was real fun. Real 'horrorshow' ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |
