I've acquired several CD's the last few months, most of which I came across at various stores and library sales. I haven't heard most of them closely (just snippets, not all the way through).  Finally got around to ripping them today.

Just curious what folks here on PA think of these.  MULTIPLE IS ON, pick any and all that you like the best.

I don't know too many of them, I believe five. I assume you're still fine with my vote, which goes to Incantations followed by Zappa.

I'm fine with whatever you want vote for, but since multiple is on, you can toss Zappa a vote too!

I also don't know many of them too. But from what I know I like of:

Long Distance Voyager - Moody Blues
Roxy & Elsewhere - Zappa and the Mothers...
Incantations - Mike Oldfield

So, I vote on those three.

Not that familiar with the album selections generally, but Big Fun is one of my favourite albums so it got a big vote from me.

Roxy & Elsewhere is a real gem - probably my favorite Zappa live album.

Oldfield and Muse but also voted for the Meshuggah album which I like despite the 'growling'.

Long Distance Voyager: Beautiful melodies and a relaxed overall feel.
Bridge Of Sighs is the opposite: Thight and seriously commited.

I don't think I understand your use of the word 'RIP'. If you bought CD's, why would you need to rip them. Or are you making CDR copies from them, maybe for your car?

I suppose he wants digital copies to play off a device. I do that for drives when I don't have streaming access (my car doesn't a CD player and it's convenient to hookup my phone or tablet through Bluetooth). Also, when I fly, I want music digitally.

My car didn’t come with a CD player either. The record player tends to skip in the car so I mostly stream music.

Mostly of what Mathman said: I want digital copies to play. Nowadays, I keep few of the CD's I get so I usually rip-n-release (give away or re-sell or take to a thrift shop).  Part of my situation is that I live mobilely and haven't had a permanent "home" for years, so I don't have much room for lots of CDs. Most of the CD's I own are in a big box at my friend's place, and I have little room for any more in there (fortunately this friend doesn't mind having the box, and uses it as a table). I do have a CD player in my vehicle and keep a few in there to listen to, but not many.

^Got it, completely understandable.
I've been in the same house for 32-33 years now and have about 1300 CD's. I mostly rip for friends or to make up comp's.

Same for me, though none of those listed would make my top 100 albums.
