Topic: 2023 Poll: In and out of PA albumsPosted By: Logan
Subject: 2023 Poll: In and out of PA albums
Date Posted: May 21 2023 at 21:30
The poll list is taken from the 2023 picks from seven people who participated in https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=130924" rel="nofollow - THIS (CLICK) topic where the idea is for participants to list one album included in Prog Archives and one not in Prog Archives (that may change in the future) from 2023 down through the years (I did until 1965 and would like to continue with another two per year for the years covered later). I hope to combine our lists into a mega master list if that topic keeps going.
I included the 14 options listed (one was blank but with coming soon notice) for 2023 and spaces for any future additions (it is early days for 2023).
Feel free to give a vote to any albums you like that are included in the list (including one of your own if you wish). If you wish to have ones added (one in PA and one not ideally), then please mention those (if you have a few years especially, please list those in the original topic that I linked to above). Thanks. I don't expect 2023 to get many votes.
My choices for the topic were Amoeba Split's Quiet Euphoria (I would have gone with Kosmischer Läufer's Vol. 5 were I not including another KL album in my list of years) and I offered Yo La Tengo's This Stupid World (my fave album so far this year) . I have listened to PoiL Ueda and will give it a vote. I do plan to listen to music off all the other mentions (well, other than that Yes which I have heard music from). And I will give a vote to one of my offerings, This Stupid World. https://yolatengo.bandcamp.com/album/this-stupid-world" rel="nofollow - https://yolatengo.bandcamp.com/album/this-stupid-world I expect to vote for more later as I listen to them -- I am very happy to discover more contemporary albums.
And feel free to vote based on very limited listening both to the overall choices and to the music off the albums themselves. I hope to see more individuals suggesting yearly duos.
Guitar reminds me of Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead in part.

Nice to see Host here in the poll. I'm tempted to vote for them but Riverside is in the poll, too. They get my vote this time.

I like "blank (not in PA, to be suggested)" but not enough to vote for it.

My own suggestions are Mammal Hands and Aksak Maboul, which I should really vote for here as there are multiple votes. Best of those nominated by others (actually the only one I have heard in full but still mightily good) is Poil Ueda.
