With any luck this poll will explode.  Multiple votes are allowed, so pick your 3 favorite bomb songs.

The Kaipa song wasn't on YouTube nor Bandcamp, so here is a link to Spotify  https://open.spotify.com/track/2srjHhvbgnDDnvcz9AmUAu#_=_" rel="nofollow - Timebomb - song and lyrics by Kaipa | Spotify

The Mudway song also wasn't on YouTube no BandCamp, so here is a link to Spotify.   https://open.spotify.com/track/6iHfEvi2DoPm0ssFinyj1U" rel="nofollow - El Bombastico - song and lyrics by MudWay | Spotify

For my three:

June Cleaver and the Steak Knifes - "Bomb Shelter"
Motorpsycho - "The Bomb-proof Roll & Beyond"

And for my third I go with your "Choose your weapon" option for a "da bomb" classic, Groundhogs' "Thank Christ for the Bomb".

Oh gosh, what a blast.
Nice playlist to go through. I only knew the songs by The Police and Saga from this list, but there were some others that were good listens. For my votes I'll go with June Cleaver and the Steak Knives, Mediabanda and hesitated between Red Sparrows and Saga, but I'll go with the latter - not their best but still "Saga" enough to please, and also because I'm too lazy to choose my own weapon.

However, although it wouldn't get my vote, I want to throw this bomb at you. And it was the bomb in 1982 in The Netherlands by a group that was the most popular in that period - a popularity of Beatlesque proportions (keeping everything in proportion, of course), including the screaming girls etc.

Doe Maar - De bom (The Bomb); this is a performance of 2012, and I learned by looking for this that the singer Henny Vrienten (not the one at the keyboards) died last year - RIP Henny!
Typically early 80s cold war lyrics at a moment that the US wanted to station nukes on Dutch soil...

I actually thought about including the Ozzy song.  The Groundhogs song would have been a good one to include. I don't have that one in my collection, but I am obviously familiar with it.

Excellent video, I voted for GAP Band too. Another good one is "Cherry Bomb" - The Breeders.

Whoops, my mistake, "Cherry Bomb" is by the Runaways, I was thinking of "Cannonball" by the Breeders.

I could have included a number of non-prog songs in the poll.  I was initially going to do a non-prog poll with just Police and The Gap Band, but decided to turn it into a prog poll, but included those two songs.  The Tubes song was kind of a last minute inclusion, but I know that they are a band that has gotten some mentions as prog adjacent here on PA.   None of the songs on How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb had the word Bomb in their title, so it didn't meet my criteria.  I have a number of Motorhead albums, but sadly, Bomber isn't one of them.  Again, not prog, so I probably wouldn't have included it, but in a non-prog poll would definitely have been a good choice.
