It's the same band. Another loose prog-related connection is Doug Pinnick and Jerry Gaskill of King's X met when they were briefly in a reformed version of Petra that lasted like a month. |

^ The Coloring Song is a HORRIBLE example of their music I'm a prog fan, and also Petra fan.
Probably the most likely to look at are albums: Not of This World, and Beat the System. Perfect line-up of lead singer, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums. Strong vocals by Greg X Volz. Later vocals are by John Schlitt (formerly of classic rock band Head East). "Judas Kiss" is also one to give a listen.

| Hey I love the coloring song but its not the best example of Petra if you have spotify check out 40th Anniversary (Deuxe Edition) Disc 1 & 40th Anniversary (Deuxe Edition) Disc 2 it gives a more 'balanced' idea of what Petra is about BTW God bless you all and TY for responding to this thread. |

I'm listening to the Never Say Die album (1981) and the Coloring Song is the opening song, not a good idea for an opener IMO, the album opener is supposed to draw the listener in, just saying.
